General description of the programme:
The basis of the English philology programme equals for all the specializations being a combination of practical and theoretical knowledge of the language, culture and literature knowledge. Moreover, the programme includes general subjects, as well as foreign languages and specialized subjects
Organization of the process of obtaining a degree:

Specialization: Polish–English–Chinese Translation and Interpreting
General description of the specialization:
A graduate of BA studies, translation specialization with the Chinese language is characterized by fundamental general education in the field of humanities, as well as specialized knowledge in the field of linguistics and literature. They have thorough and detailed knowledge and skills concerning the use of English, as well as high competence in Chinese. They are fluent in English and can use Chinese at B2 level, and they have basic knowledge concerning the culture of both English-speaking and Chinese-speaking countries. The studies prepare students to become translators and interpreters: they can interpret consecutively and simultaneously spoken texts, as well as translate general, specialized and artistic written texts. A graduate is prepared to use their knowledge and language skills at work (e.g. in translation agencies, mass-media such as TV, radio or the Internet, travel agencies, departments of international co-operation etc.).

The studies are completed when students file their bachelor’s thesis in linguistics or translation and take the bachelor’s exam. A graduate obtains a diploma with a bachelor’s degree together with a supplement. The supplement to the diploma contains the list of subjects, the number of hours together with ECTS points, the list of obtained grades, information concerning obtained awards and a student’s other achievements.
