General description of the programme: | Full-time second cycle programme within the field of E-learning in Cultural Diversity course concentrates on two areas: humanistic and social. Its aim is to facilitate students with specialised knowledge that connects the e-learning and ICT fields with pedagogy and psychology, and to prepare for acquiring abilities in multicultural environments. Joining the educational fields (and tasks implemented within its realisation to equip a student with particular skills) constitute an innovative and desired in the labour market educational solution, intended at second cycle university programme.
The main innovativeness of the field is the prospective participation of remarkable representatives of science from fields which are theoretically and practically connected with the problems of distance learning. In the years 2014-2017 at the University of Silesia, Faculty of Ethnology and Educational Studies runs the following projects: International research network for study and development of new tools and methods for advanced pedagogical science in the field of ICT instruments, e-learning and intercultural competences (IRNet), No 612536, Grant Agreement Number: PIRSES-GA-2013-612536 (7PR). Interdisciplinary research in preparation of advanced methods for employing e-learning, strengthening multinational coop-eration and exchanging experience of scientists (from ten Universities located in ten different countries) is to be implemented within the project. Together with the plan to start the new field of studies, it is also planned, together with partners from other countries, to apply for European Funds, in particular within the Erasmus Mundus Programme.
Characteristic of the graduate of the E-learning in Cultural Diversity course is consistent with the Professional Competences Standards of distance education methodology . The profession has been mentioned as the one in maximum deficit in the labour market.
Opening the original field aims at educating highly qualified methodologists of e-learning and multicultural educationalists, who can be employed in various educational institu-tions (schools, educational authorities, teacher training institutions), in public and non-public universities, stateowned and private companies that offer educational and advisory services, in different business sectors and in companies that prepare e-courses.
Implementation of E-learning in Cultural Diversity is strictly connected with the strategic objectives of the University of Silesia for 2012-2020 and of the Faculty of Ethnology and Educational Studies in Cieszyn Having in mind the second objectives of the strategy, namely:
Innovativeness education and modern teaching offer, which includes (Innowacyjne kształcenie i nowoczesna oferta dydaktyczna), point 2.3. Openness and innovativeness in educational field (Otwartość i innowacyjność w obszarze kształcenia), which includes point 2.3.2 Creation of new curriculums consistent with the labour market's requirements (Tworzenie nowych pro-gramów zgodnych z oczekiwaniami rynku pracy,); the proposed field answers the needs of prospective employers.
The proposed field of studies employs the already existing base and infrastructure of the Faculty of Ethnology and Educational Studies. The planned classes schedule techniques of activation: apart from lectures, also discussion sessions in classrooms and in well-equipped computer rooms are planned. The computer rooms are equipped with modern hardware and software, and have access to the Internet. It is planned to run the classes also in rooms designed for multinational focus studies (which are under preparation). The main methods of teaching rely on projects, problem solving and training methods as well as on group work. Students will be involved in implementation of studies on media and multinational education. They will be equipped with educational and methodology materials available on distance learning platform of the Faculty of Ethnology and Educational Stud-ieshttp://el.us.edu.pl/weinoe) in a form of distance courses and MOOC courses, prepared within the framework of European project IRNet (www.irnet.us.edu.pl). The new field is also based on scientific resources of interdisciplinary scientific and didactic team, and falls within the scope of undertaken scientific researches.
One of the most important aspect of fulfilment of the educational effects of the above mentioned field is cooperation with external stakeholders in the local environment. Under contracts on cooperation, students will be able to carry out research and apprenticeships in teacher training institutions, stateowned or private companies that offer educational and advisory services, in different business sectors and in companies that prepare e-courses.
The basic ideas of the proposed innovative course are presented in few fields:
• a graduate receives, upon fulfilling the educational assumptions, deep interdisciplinary knowledge and adequate skills within the module groups of humanities and social sci-ences,
• the curriculum subjects will employ modern IT and ICT for more individualised edu-cational process in e-learning and blended learning mode. Should funds from the Erasmus Mundus project be granted, also national and international mobility of lecturers and students is planned,
• a vital role in preparing students for future jobs plays tutoring connected with practical usage of skills. Therefore, each student will be guided by two tutors (university employee and an employee of an external institution) who will fulfil the role of a formal guide and a special educational and methodology advisors. Meetings with tutors will take place at the university or in an institution, which carries out the apprenticeship.
The activity fields for E-learning in Cultural Diversity are based on the following rules: openness, modernity and creativity, shaping citizenship behaviours and prosocial attitudes that have significant influence on broadly understood socioeconomic environment.
While creating the curriculum, human resources capacity of Cieszyn academic centre was taken into consideration, that is: Faculty of Humanistic Education and Auxiliary Sciences for Pedagogy, which from 1999 has been an interdisciplinary department, with a network of specialists in different humanistic and social studies, such as Zakład Pedagogiki Ogólnej i Metodologii Badań which, since 1989, carries out interdisciplinary multicultural researches in Poland and abroad. Both at the stage of creating the educational effects and at the stage of creating the programme assumptions, more attention was paid to advice and experience of polish and international partners and associations as well as to opinions of coworkers of enti-ties that represent different professional environments, e.g. connected with education, peda-gogy, psychology, ICT, e-learning and multi- or cross cultural education. The field which is in the process of implementation, has receive a positive opinion and support from Council of Institute Sciences of Education and Faculty of Ethnology and Sciences of Education and partners from foreign universities.
