General characteristics of the field of study and the assumed concept of education: | Kierunek komunikacja cyfrowa zakłada symbiotyczne i synergiczne połączenie w procesie dydaktycznym kompetencji właściwych dziedzinom nauk humanistycznych oraz ścisłych i technicznych. Uczestnicy studiów nabywają wiedzę i umiejętności z puli modułów komunikacyjnych, ogólnorozwojowych i cyfrowych. Program dwóch pierwszych obejmuje zagadnienia dotyczące m.in. teorii komunikacji, humanistyki cyfrowej, języka w zachowaniach społecznych, zróżnicowania przestrzeni komunikacyjnej, autoprezentacji i budowania wizerunku, retoryki, argumentacji, perswazji, zarządzania projektem, wiedzy o nowych mediach i cybersztuce, wiedzy o kulturze, fundraisingu i pozyskiwania funduszy, błędów i barier w komunikacji. Blok cyfrowy – treści dotyczące programowania, analizy danych, informatyki, cyfrowych technik audiowizualnych, neuronauki, internetu rzeczy czy narzędzi AI. Kierunek komunikacja cyfrowa jest nie tylko innowacyjny w zakresie prezentowanych treści, lecz także pod względem metod dydaktycznych. Wykorzystywane są platformy e-learningowe oraz inne rozwiązania technologiczne, które pozwalają studentom/studentkom zapoznać się z nowoczesnymi i globalnymi standardami w dziedzinie IT. Absolwenci i absolwentki kierunku na poziomie licencjatu będą wyposażeni w interdyscyplinarną wiedzę odnoszącą się do nauk humanistycznych, społecznych, ścisłych i technicznych, co umożliwi im zarówno krytyczną analizę treści cyfrowych, jak również osiąganie zamierzonych celów komunikacyjnych w różnych typach interakcji społecznych (w tym zapośredniczonych cyfrowo). Przekazana w toku studiów wiedza umożliwi absolwentowi sprawne tworzenie oraz interpretację i integrację komunikatów w działalności kulturalnej, medialnej i biznesowej przy wykorzystaniu najnowszych osiągnięć z zakresu technik informatycznych. Absolwenci i absolwentki kierunku, mając szeroką interdyscyplinarną wiedzę i jednocześnie zróżnicowane praktyczne umiejętności będą mogli znaleźć zatrudnienie zarówno w sektorze publicznym, jak i prywatnym. Studia przygotują ich do pracy w agencjach PR, mediach, firmach sektora kreatywnego, sektorze IT, instytucjach kultury i innych. Absolwenci i absolwentki będą mieć także możliwość do kontynuowania nauki na studiach II stopnia na kierunkach, związanych z informatyką, projektowaniem gier, zarządzaniem, komunikacją, nowymi mediami i innych. |

Graduation requirements: | The condition for admission to the diploma examination is to achieve the learning outcomes provided for in the study program, to obtain a certificate of an appropriate level of language proficiency in a foreign language and to obtain positive grades for the diploma dissertation. The condition for graduation is to pass the diploma examination with at least a satisfactory result. A graduate receives a higher education diploma confirming obtaining the qualifications of the appropriate degree.

Internships (hours and conditions): | Internships are an integral part of the study program, carried out by students in individual fields, levels, profiles and forms of study. Internships are to help in confronting the knowledge acquired during studies with the requirements of the labour market, acquiring skills useful in the profession, learning about practical issues related to working in positions for which the student is prepared during the course of studies. The internship is to familiarize the student with professional language relevant to a specific industry and work culture.
The rules for the organization of internships are set out in the Rector's ordinance. Detailed rules of apprenticeship taking into account the specifics of particular fields of study are set out in the field's of study apprenticeship regulations, in particular: learning outcomes assumed to be achieved by the student during the apprenticeship, framework apprenticeship program including a description of issues, dimension of apprenticeship (number of weeks of practice); form of internship (continuous, mid-year), criteria for choosing the place of internship, obligations of the student staying in the internship, obligations of the academic tutor, conditions for completing the internship by the student and conditions for exemption from the internship obligation in whole or in part.

Information on the relationship between the studies and the university's strategy as well as the socio-economic needs that determine the conduct of studies and the compliance of learning outcomes with these needs: | Komunikacja cyfrowa to kierunek studiów przygotowany zgodnie z wytycznymi zawartymi w Strategii rozwoju Uniwersytetu Śląskiego na lata 2020–2025. Kierunek studiów komunikacja cyfrowa to przede wszystkim realna, nowoczesna odpowiedź na potrzeby edukacyjne kandydatów/kandydatek i studentów/studentek, które zdiagnozowano, analizując tendencje w rozwoju polskiego i światowego szkolnictwa wyższego oraz rynek pracy. Szczególnie duże znaczenie w opracowywaniu koncepcji studiów miało kierowanie się w tych działaniach opinią potencjalnych pracodawców, a także umożliwienie studentom i studentkom poznania wiedzy stosowanej, poprzez zaplanowanie zajęć z ekspertami zewnętrznymi, stanowiącymi pomost pomiędzy środowiskiem uczelni a otoczeniem społeczno-gospodarczym. Taki model kształcenia daje również szansę na lepszy transfer wiedzy o badaniach naukowych prowadzonych w uczelni do środowiska ich potencjalnych beneficjentów. W ten sposób koncepcja nowego kierunku realizuje nie tylko ważne cele UŚ, ale także priorytet określony przez Komisję Europejską w komunikacie Strategia na rzecz inteligentnego i zrównoważonego rozwoju sprzyjającego włączeniu społecznemu: Europa 2020. Podobieństwo do kierunków komunikologicznych organizowanych w innych europejskich uczelniach sprzyja podniesieniu mobilności studentów i pracowników oraz badawczo-dydaktycznej współpracy międzyuczelnianej. Istotnym rysem współczesnego kształcenia w opinii zarówno instytucjonalnych decydentów krajowych i zagranicznych, jak i wszelkich interesariuszy zewnętrznych jest łączenie kompetencji zawodowych z ogólnymi, takimi jak m.in. umiejętności komunikacyjne, ocenianie znaczenia informacji i samodzielność ich wykorzystywania w działaniu, rozwiązywanie problemów, zdolność myślenia analitycznego. W modułach uwzględniono tak zdefiniowane efekty procesu edukacji, co nie tylko wiąże ten kierunek ze strategią uczelni, ale również czyni z niego istotną propozycję realizującą ważne społecznie oczekiwania. |
