Description:
The purpose of the course is to introduce students to the basic concepts and the terminology of literary translation, the elements of translation process and the methods and strategies of it. Students will gain the ability to evaluate and use the various tools available to the translator (glossaries, dictionaries etc.), to perform a critical analysis of a translation, to use their theoretical knowledge in order to solve practical translation problems and the ability to proofread and evaluate a translated text.
