Module name: Game Design: Module 2 - Basic Graphics Skills (2d and 3d Graphics)
Module code: W1-FA-SW-S1-PGR-2
Programme code: W1-S1FA19.2021
Semester:
  • summer semester 2024/2025
  • summer semester 2023/2024
  • summer semester 2022/2023
  • summer semester 2021/2022
Language of instruction: Polish
Form of verification: course work
ECTS credits: 4
Description:
The aim of the course is to familiarize the students with tools and techniques of 2D and 3D graphics and to develop basic graphics skills and competences. Students will develop an awareness of the role of computer graphics in the game design process and will come to understand the technical and artistic limitations brought about by the choice of technologies, the standards and particular solutions applied to the specific game design processes. Students will learn about basic notions of computer graphics, such as the distinctions between vector and raster graphics, colour models, graphics file formats and the available tools and software. Students will also gain practical skills enabling them to effectively use the available graphical and game development tools in level design.
Prerequisites:
Successful completion of the courses in the module "Game Design: Module 1" in the first semester.
Key reading:
Specified in the syllabus.
