Description:
The aim of the course is to develop students’ academic writing skills with particular emphasis on techniques for working with sources. The course focuses on the skills of finding, assessing the usefulness, analytical use, and correct referencing of source material. During the course, students also become acquainted with the most important aspects of academic style and techniques useful in constructing an academic argument, especially a diploma paper, including the principles of logical argumentation and thesis evolution. These techniques are acquired and developed by students in the form of practical exercises integrated with the preparation of an individual diploma paper.

Successful completion of the second year of studies.

Examples of such assignments include, but are not limited to, an annotated bibliography, literature review, abstract, aim of the paper, description of the material and method.
