Description:
Students gain basic knowledge about the origins of language, the features of language that distinguish it from animal forms of communication, various models of linguistic communication and the functions of language, moreover about language as a system and its subsystems, linguistics as a subject, the scope of linguistic study and the branches of linguistics, as well as the most important linguistic theories
