Description:
The module aims to provide students with basic skills of English academic text composition. During its practical classes students learn how to formulate written arguments clearly and coherently as well as get acquainted with elements and discursive specificity of selected types of essays. The module’s primary focus as well is on the use of the basic techniques of practical rhetoric in writing, with the inclusion of such components as the matter of political correctness, the formal language register in writing, the various methods of paraphrasing and summarizing texts as well as the rules of English punctuation.
