Description:
The module discusses the structure and mechanisms of action of governmental and local institutions, mass media and other public organizations in the USA, referring simultaneously to the most important processes forging American identities in a multicultural society. A special focus is put on an analysis of the most crucial aspects of the American political process, theories which explain the functioning of multicultural and monocultural societies and fundamental demographic changes occurring in the US as well as co-related social tensions and debates held in the US society. These problems are presented in a manner which requires students to actively search for references to intercultural and international relations.
