Description: | The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with the principles of international dispute resolution, its mechanisms and practical application, especially in the field of international economic relations. The course covers non-judicial (negotiations, mediation, conciliation) and judicial (arbitration, international courts) methods of dispute resolution.
Students gain the knowledge on such particular problems as:
- definition/types of disputes in international law;
- diplomatic and judicial methods of conflict resolution, its characteristic, practical application in economic disputes.
- jurisdiction and procedure of international courts (International Court of Justice, International Tribunal of the Law on the Sea, other international fora for international dispute resolution). |
