Description:
The GDPR in Business course aims to familiarize students with the objectives, principles and protective mechanisms used within the legal regulation of personal data protection in the European Union. The protection of personal data is a field of knowledge at the interface between information, administrative, economic and legal sciences. The course offers the students an opportunity to learn the following key issues: development of the idea of personal data protection, European standards for personal data protection, subjective and objective scope of personal data protection, principles of personal data processing, personal data controller duties, the data subject's right, remedies, liability and penalties. The aim of the course is primarily to familiarize students with the standards of personal data protection and to teach them practical skills in the implementation of personal data protection obligations. Upon successful completion of the GDPR in Business course, the International Business Law and Arbitration graduates will be prepared to perform various social roles on the market (entrepreneurs, consumers) to the extent that they will exercise their rights and perform duties related to the processing of personal information.
