A course presents a wide panorama of everyday life of the Middle East from anthropological perspective: the history of European interest in the region, “Television” and “Folk” Islam, beliefs and customs of folk Islam, ethnic diversity, traditional and modern social structures: basic ties, social diversity, structures` s dynamic , pastoral nomadism, peasant`s economy, the “Islamic” city
