Pojęcie kultury i cywilizacji rzymskiej oraz ich związki z kulturą i cywilizacją grecką, etruską i Wschodu. Istota i rozwój pisma łacińskiego. Religie świata rzymskiego z uwzględnieniem wpływów obcych. Kultura intelektualna Rzymian. Rzeźba, malarstwo i architektura, starożytnego Rzymu. Recepcja i tradycje kultury rzymskiej w kulturze polskiej i europejskiej.
