Description:
The course consists of 60 contact hours (practical grammar and conversation) during which students build vocabulary on the basis of textbook texts; they work in pairs or present their opinions in front of the group. Texts and lexical material give students an insight into German-speaking countries. Students practice listening comprehension and get familiar with new structures. The course aims at a revising and consolidating selected grammatical structures as well as acquiring new grammatical and lexical skills. Grammatically correct communication and metalanguage awareness are the focal point, as students are to become German language teachers in the future. Course content (conversation): healthy lifestyle, doctor’s appointment, traditional holidays in German-speaking countries and in Poland, German geography and culture, home town, Poland’s most beautiful cities, pets, advertising and its impact on our lives, extreme sports, women’s role and position in society. Course content (grammar): prepositions following verbs, adjectives and nouns; conditionals, comparative and superlative adjectives and adverbs, declension of adjectives, prepositions in all cases.
