Description: | The module of patch-clamp technique in the study of plant cells enables to gain the specialized knowledge, theoretical and practical scope of the patch-clamp method in the cells and tissues of plants. By this module the student will be acquainted with the physical fundamentals of transport through biological membranes, types of membrane ion transport systems (pumps, ion channels, transporters), electrophysiological techniques that serve to record currents flowing through biological membranes, analysis of currents flowing through a single ion channel and a system of signal transduction in plant cells with the participation of ion channels. In addition, the student acquires the skills to carry out measurements using the patch-clamp technique. |
Prerequisites: | Knowledge of botany and plant physiology at the undergraduate level. |
