Purpose and description of the content of education:
Realizacja modułu ma na celu zapoznać studenta z głównymi kierunkami rozwoju kultury popularnej (w historycznym i współczesnym kontekście ), ale też z podstawowymi pojęciami, dziejami, funkcjami i współczesnym odbiorem literatury popularnej, która obok innych składowych kultury masowej (film, serial, muzyka) dostarcza czytelnikowi przed wszystkim rozrywki oraz wywołuje emocjonalne reakcje. Moduł ma pokazać studentowi mechanizmy funkcjonowania kultury popularnej, czerpiącej z różnych źródeł i oddziałującej na społeczeństwo w różnych aspektach. Ważne jest także przygotowanie go do oceny odpowiedniego wytworu kultury (np. tekstu literackiego) w obszarze zaspokajania złożonych potrzeb użytkowników instytucji kultury i ukazanie mu znaczenia m. in. literatury popularnej w kształtowaniu tożsamości kulturowej.
