Purpose and description of the content of education:
During the module, students will learn about the development of aesthetics in European culture and art and the construction of the canon of artistic books. Completing the module will allow you to learn about book design styles, the most influential creators of artistic books in Poland and worldwide, book institutions, bibliophile organizations, printing museums, etc. Students will be able to characterize the aesthetic elements of a book and determine their functions in various types of publications. They will learn how to use sources relating to the history of artistic books and well-designed books (media, fairs, competitions, portals, etc.). They will be able to identify and list awards and distinctions for the best-published books and have the ability to interpret Internet resources related to book art.
