Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the main concepts and phenomena related to the impact of digital technologies on contemporary culture. The module develops the ability to critically analyze cultural transformations occurring in networked society, with particular emphasis on new models of participation, content creation and distribution, as well as the transformation of cultural institutions. The curriculum covers definitions and selected theories of technoculture, discussions on the culture of convergence and prosumption, and the role of digital platforms in shaping communication and cultural practices. Special attention is devoted to changes in the organization of knowledge and the processes of collective memory in digital environments. Students will become familiar with examples of projects and research concerning digital culture and will analyze the transformations of cultural institutions under the influence of information technologies.
