Purpose and description of the content of education: | The module is cultural studies in nature, its aim is not to analyze literary works formally or stylistically, but to show them as carriers of values, ideas and cultural identity. Literature is treated as a testimony to worldview, religious and social transformations. The classes are designed to equip students with knowledge of the meanings and values conveyed in literary texts considered canonical for the European cultural circle. Fundamental literary and cultural phenomena - from antiquity to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries - are discussed in the context of their function in shaping the collective imagination and value systems. |
