Purpose and description of the content of education:
The module aims to familiarize students with the theoretical and practical aspects of the functioning of the national bibliography and selected subject bibliographies documenting the achievements of culture, science, and social life. Students analyze the structure and principles of creating a national bibliography in Poland, emphasizing its compliance and divergence with international standards for unifying bibliographic works. During the course, participants develop competencies in searching, selecting, and evaluating sources of bibliographic information. They learn to independently plan and conduct bibliographic queries, both for the needs of their scientific works and for assigned information tasks. Particular emphasis is placed on the ability to qualify sources in content and form and create thematic and subject bibliographies by applicable standards. The module also shapes awareness of the role of bibliography as a tool for documenting and disseminating knowledge about culture. It develops the ability to use information resources in research and professional work critically.
