Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the module is, in particular, to acquaint students with the institutions regulated by the Act on Insurance Activity, the Act on Compulsory Insurance, the Insurance Guarantee Fund, the Act on Insurance Supervision, and the Act on Insurance Intermediation. Commercial insurance law is a complex field of law that regulates a vast and diverse subject matter. It encompasses not only civil insurance relations (currently regulated by the Civil Code and the Maritime Code), but also a broad range of administrative and financial issues related to insurance, including organizational matters. It also includes aspects of insurance criminal law and other smaller areas of regulation (procedural and conflict-of-law issues). The seminar specifically focuses on the analysis of the new Act on Insurance Activity, the Act on Compulsory Insurance, the Insurance Guarantee Fund, the Act on Insurance Supervision, and the Act on Insurance Intermediation.
