Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the module is to provide knowledge about legal regulations concerning misdemeanors, the principles of liability for such offenses, and the issues of punishment. The student is expected to acquire the ability to apply theoretical knowledge and to subsume specific factual situations under the relevant legal norms. Upon completing the course, the student should understand the relationships and interdependencies between "classical" criminal law and violention law. Another goal of the course is to familiarize students with the full scope of regulations governing the conduct of state authorities and other participants aimed at detecting and establishing a violention and identifying its perpetrator, as well as imposing a penalty or applying other measures—or, in the absence of a violention, the perpetrator’s guilt, or in the presence of exonerating circumstances, issuing an acquittal. After completing the course, students should have a general understanding of the procedures for punishing violentions, including special proceedings such as summary proceedings, expedited proceedings, and penalty notice proceedings. Students should also be familiar with regulations concerning the admissibility, conduct, and use of evidence. The course is intended to provide students with knowledge that allows them to determine the relationship between criminal proceedings and proceedings for violention liability, especially in cases of the so-called real concurrence of a crime and a violention.
