Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the module is to provide students with knowledge, skills, and competences in the field of public international law, including the main legal acts and other sources of international law, as well as key issues relating to specific areas within this branch of law. As part of the module, students become acquainted with, among others, diplomatic and consular law, the law of the sea, and topics concerning subjects, territory, and population in international law (including their regulation in Polish law), the universal system for the protection of human rights, and the structure and functioning of international organizations—particularly the United Nations. Students are expected to understand the principles of how the international community operates, be able to assess and verify media information regarding Polish foreign policy and international affairs, and be familiar with the relationships and interactions between the national and international legal systems.
