Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the module is to acquaint students with current legal regulations concerning the organization and principles of functioning of local government in Poland. Students are expected to gain knowledge of fundamental issues related to the essence and concept of local self-government, the organization of communes, counties, and voivodeships, forms of cooperation between local government units, the tasks of local government, and the principles of supervision over local administration. The course covers current legal issues, taking into account the historical context. Additionally, attention is paid to the practical aspects of local government administration, so students should acquire the ability to apply theoretical knowledge (e.g., understanding the rules for adopting resolutions, drafting legal acts or documents in administrative or administrative court proceedings involving local government units).
