Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the module is for the student to master the subject of the law governing the most important international organizations operating on the European continent (i.e. the Council of Europe, the European Union, and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe). In particular, the student is expected to acquire knowledge about the functioning mechanisms of European institutions, their law-making competences, and the instruments used to monitor compliance with the law. In addition to the necessary theoretical knowledge, the student gains the ability to distinguish the relationship between European law and Polish law, apply the principles of European law (including the principle of direct effect), and use the legal protection systems within the Council of Europe and the EU.
