Purpose and description of the content of education: | The curriculum of the module complements knowledge in the field of art history, cultural knowledge, and selected issues of cultural anthropology. The cognitive objectives of the subject focus on recognizing the assumptions, foundations, and distinctiveness of modernist and postmodernist culture, with particular attention to postmodernist reorientations in various areas of today's culture – a broad context (science, philosophy, artistic culture, literature, art). This also includes recognizing and understanding the historical and cultural contexts of postmodern transgressions and deconstructions, related concepts, and theories necessary for understanding contemporary culture and artistic practice. Students should possess knowledge and orientation in the characteristic trends and cultural phenomena of postmodernity, as well as the ability to critically analyze and evaluate them. |
