Purpose and description of the content of education:
Umiejętność rozumienia istoty filmu dokumentalnego to jedna z najważniejszych sprawności każdego reżysera również tego, który para się wyłącznie fabułą, czy formami scenicznymi. Od wnikliwej obserwacji życia, zauważania znaczeń, słuchania dialogów, współuczestniczenia w przeżywaniu emocji, zbierania ludzkich doświadczeń zależy umiejętność tworzenia nawet wtedy, gdy ma się do czynienia jedynie z własną wyobraźnią i zawodowymi aktorami. Film dokumentalny jest narzędziem badania świata i człowieka. Ma wartość nie tylko artystyczną. Bywa źródłem wiedzy, terapią, świadectwem. Sama materia filmów dokumentalnych jest nieprzewidywalna w stopniu który uniemożliwia zbudowanie sztywnej strategii dydaktycznej. Prowadzący zajęcia muszą zachować elastyczność w podejściu do każdego nowego tematu, bohatera i studenta, przez którego opowiadany jest kawałek świata. Proces dydaktyczny nastawiony jest na kształtowanie umiejętności obserwacji, analizy i twórczej interpretacji rzeczywistości. W pierwszym i drugim semestrze koncentrujemy się na podstawach. Co jest dobrym pomysłem na film dokumentalny? Kto jest idealnym bohaterem filmu dokumentalnego? Jak prowadzić wywiad, a jak inicjować rozmowę dokumentalną, jak zbierać informacje. Student mierzy się z różnymi trudnościami przy prowadzeniu rozmowy badającej tropy nośne dokumentalnie w bardziej komfortowej sytuacji sam na sam z bohaterem i przy powtórzeniu jej części w obecności ekipy i sprzętu filmowego. Ważnym zadaniem jest analiza filmów dokumentalnych, zarówno uznanych arcydzieł gatunku jak i filmów w jakichś sposób kalekich. Część praktyczna obejmuje kilkuminutowe zadanie dokumentalne wymagające przełożenia abstrakcyjnego pojęcia na dokumentalny konkret. Równolegle studenci reżyserują piętnastominutowy portret dokumentalny.

Student posiada umiejętność dokumentowania, analizowania, interpretowania i oceniania rzeczywistości pod kątem możliwości jej przedstawienia w filmie dokumentalnym. Potrafi zebrać informacje w formie wywiadu, kwerendy dokumentów, przeszukiwania archiwów np. prasowych. [DOK1_1]
