Purpose and description of the content of education:
„W filmie, w przeciwieństwie do innych sztuk […] nie dominuje ani czasowość ani przestrzenność. Jest on czasoprzestrzenny, przy czym czasoprzestrzenności tej nie należy rozkładać w procesie analizy. Zjawiska, do których można odnieść kategorię czasu i przestrzeni, nie występują obok siebie czy w jakimś następstwie, lecz przenikają się tak dalece, że ich rozłączne traktowanie byłoby niesłuszne”. Powyższe słowa Alicji Helman, patronują rozważaniom prowadzonym w module „Konstrukcjie czasu i przestrzeni w filmie”. Oczywiście na poziomie rudymentów, pozwalamy sobie na chwilową rozłączność, omawiając kategorię czasu i przestrzeni osobno – jednak zawsze, odnosimy wnioski do całości, do filmowej czasoprzestrzeni. Ośrodkiem kursu są rozważania teoretyczne, zderzane za każdym razem z wybranymi dziełami sztuki filmowej. W pierwszym semestrze omawiamy przestrzeń ekranową i diegetyczną. Węzłami, wokół których skupia się uwaga prowadzących zajęcia i studentów są: wnętrze, rozumiane także, jako wnętrze myślowe / Bachtinowska idea połączenia jednostki ze światem, jako widnokrąg i otoczenie /, przestrzeń industrialna, rozumiana, jako połączenie wnętrza i zewnętrza, miasto, oraz natura. Semestr drugi przeznaczony jest na omówienie kategorii czasu filmowego. Rozważamy, idąc za teoretykiem kina Jan Mukarovskym, trzy rodzaje czasu: ekranowy, zdarzeń fabularnych oraz postrzegającego podmiotu / widza /. Szczególnie ta trzecia kategoria, będąca jak dotąd traktowana po macoszemu przez twórców, wydaje się interesująca i płodna formalnie dla przyszłych reżyserów. Moduł pierwszy jak i drugi realizują wyznaczone cele w oparciu o twórczość autorów tworzących w drugiej połowie XX stulecia, uwzględniając jednak ich wpływ na dorobek kina współczesnego.
