Purpose and description of the content of education:
Celem realizacji modułu jest wprowadzenie studentów w możliwie szeroko pojęty świat sztuki. Konieczne jest rozbudzenie plastycznej wrażliwości, poczucia piękna, proporcji i harmonii, czyli najbardziej wzniosłych kryteriów prawdziwej sztuki. Studenci pierwszego roku potrzebują pomocy w pokonywaniu trudności, jakie napotykają w kontakcie ze sztuką. Dzieła sztuki onieśmielają swoją artystyczną i techniczna biegłością, stawiają poznawczy opór gęstą materią wielopoziomowych treści. Pokonanie tych barier jest warunkiem otwarcia się na artystyczne doznania, osiągniecie estetycznych i intelektualnych satysfakcji, a przede wszystkim odkrycia prawideł i mechanizmów, według których sztuka może być dla przyszłych twórców filmów inspirującym źródłem i wsparciem w podejmowaniu artystycznych decyzji. W odróżnieniu od naukowego podejścia historyka sztuki studenci reżyserii muszą otworzyć się na osobiste relacje z dziełem, odrzucić stereotypy i umieć się cieszyć estetycznym przeżyciem. W epoce kultury obrazkowej kino artystyczne musi wyróżniać się formą i jako sztuka docierająca do szerokiego odbiorcy wziąć na siebie obowiązek kształtowania poczucia estetyki i piękna.
