Purpose and description of the content of education:
Zajęcia z teorii i praktyki teatru porządkują i podnoszą wiedzę studenta na temat teatru i dramatu. Na samym początku nauki mają zweryfikować poziom wiedzy studenta, z którą przystępuje do studiów. Poprzez prowadzone zajęcia student uzyskuje podstawową wiedzę na temat zasadniczych pojęć, związanych z istotą teatru, jego teorią i kierunkami rozwoju praktyk teatralnych. Poznawanie teorii teatru połączone jest z weryfikacją znajomości europejskiego dramatu, jego najważniejszych dokonań. Lektura wybitnych dzieł dramatu polskiego i europejskiego jest podporządkowana przygotowaniu do reżyserii i jej praktykowania. Ich celem jest nabycie umiejętności szczególnej lektury tekstu dramatycznego, która pozwoli na przygotowanie reżyserskiego egzemplarza. Drugim zasadniczym obszarem penetracji jest reżyseria. Zajęcia poświęcone są analizie pojęcia w jego historycznym przebiegu. Ich głównym celem jest uświadomienie studentowi obszaru działania i odpowiedzialności reżysera, zarówno na poziomie przygotowawczym, jak i realizacyjnym. Przygotowują studenta do potencjalnych zadań, z którymi przyjdzie mu się zmierzyć, czy to w dalszym toku studiów, czy w przyszłej pracy twórczej. Ukazują reżyserię jako profesję wyjątkową, stawiającą przed realizatorem szczególne wymagania intelektualne i emocjonalne. Uświadamiają konieczność objęcia różnych obszarów wiedzy, tak na terenie nauk humanistycznych, jak i innych nauk społecznych. Uczą stałego weryfikowania i poszerzania tej wiedzy. Zapoznają go z odpowiednią literaturą fachową i przygotowują do własnych poszukiwań.
