Purpose and description of the content of education:
Jeśli odbiorców kursu z historii filmu cechuje znajomość tradycji sztuki filmowej oraz poczucie bycia depozytariuszem pamięci o tej tradycji, to studenta mniejszego modułu charakteryzuje tyle znajomość tendencji i zjawisk występujących w kinie nowym i najnowszym, tyleż znajomość godnych uwagi twórców współczesnego kina, co gotowość na przyjęcie tego, co właśnie znajduje się droga na ekrany połączona z umiejętnością selekcji i oceny jego ważności. Celem realizacji modułu jest dostarczenie studentowi rodzaju busoli dla orientacji w obszarze współczesnej kultury audiowizualnej, w której kino zmienia się w interakcji z transformacją właściwą tej kulturze i obrazowi świata, jak i one kształtuje. Student nabywa umiejętność diagnostycznego i prognostycznego spojrzenia na to, co dzieje się w dobie współczesnej, poprzez pryzmat nowoczesnego kina, którego twórcy wynajdują formy adekwatny dla wyrażenie zachodzących przemian cywilizacyjnych w jakościowo nowym języku filmowym .
