Purpose and description of the content of education:
The contents of the module introduce students to knowledge and experiences resulting from previous cognitive and economic explorations of the Earth's mountain and polar areas. Particular emphasis is placed on presenting the diversity of mountain and polar environmental systems, their sensitivity and dynamics (climate, waters, glaciers, permafrost, slope processes, life forms) in connection with the functioning and changes of social systems (population, socio-economic structures, political and institutional regimes, culture and technologies) in the context of global changes on Earth and opportunities and threats to sustainable development
