Purpose and description of the content of education:
The subject "Criminal Expertise" focuses on understanding and acquiring the skills necessary to effectively provide psychological opinions in the context of criminal law. The main goal of this course is to prepare students to work as forensic experts in a criminal environment. The main content of the course includes an understanding of the mental and behavioral processes involved in crime, the psychological assessment techniques used in the context of criminal law, and the use of these assessments to produce professional, persuasive and clear forensic opinions. Students will learn how to assess such aspects as criminality, risk of recidivism, the ability to be responsible for one's actions, and the therapeutic needs of convicts. The goal of the course is not only to acquire theoretical knowledge, but also to develop the practical skills necessary to work as a forensic expert in criminal cases, including the ability to analyze and evaluate information and communicate results in a way that is understandable to the court and other stakeholders.
