Purpose and description of the content of education:
The information provided in the workshop includes: Definition of immediate life-threatening condition, symptoms, and consequences. The role of time, body temperature, and environment in rescue capabilities and outcomes after cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Concept of resuscitation and reanimation, their origin, scope, and significance. Emergency medical services system in Poland, responsibilities of the state and citizens. The concept of the golden hour, chain of survival, procedures for mass incidents, principles of triage at the scene. Safety principles for the injured and rescuers. Selected life-threatening conditions in children and adults, such as out-of-hospital childbirth, neonatal asphyxia, febrile seizures, laryngitis and laryngotracheitis in children, myocardial infarction, shock patients, fainting, unconscious patients, risk of aspiration, airway obstruction, preventive methods. Recovery position, its execution, monitoring, and hazards. Basic rights of the injured during resuscitation. Limits of resuscitation.
