Purpose and description of the content of education: | The Molecular Genetics module aims to introduce students to the fundamentals of molecular genetics in the context of how organisms, tissues and cells function. The module extends and consolidates knowledge of the organisation of the genome, the processes of DNA replication and repair, and the concept of the central dogma of molecular biology. Students are familiarised with the basic techniques of molecular biology and learn their practical application in the study of biological systems. |
