Basics of Binocular Vision Field of study: Biophysics
Programme code: W4-S1BF19.2025

Module name: Basics of Binocular Vision
Module code: W4-BF-OO-S1-6-23-47
Programme code: W4-S1BF19.2025
Semester: summer semester 2027/2028
Language of instruction: Polish
Form of verification: exam
ECTS credits: 3
Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the module is to acquire basic knowledge of binocular vision by students. Students learn the main anatomical, motor and sensory aspects of binocular vision. As part of the module, students will acquire knowledge about the basic concepts of strabismus, divisions and parameters of accommodation and vergence that indicate binocular vision dysfunction. During the course, students will learn about selected methods used in the diagnosis and recognition of binocular vision anomalies, such as the measurement of accommodation parameters, the type and angle of strabismus, or the ranges of fusion vergence. They will also learn how to proceed therapeutically (lenses, prisms, visual training) in the most common accommodative-vergence dysfunction.
