Advanced methods of research on the structure and properties of materials 1 Field of study: Quality Control Materials and Products
Programme code: W4-S2KJ25.2025

Module name: Advanced methods of research on the structure and properties of materials 1
Module code: KJ2A_ZMBSWM1
Programme code: W4-S2KJ25.2025
Semester: summer semester 2025/2026
Language of instruction: Polish
Form of verification: exam
ECTS credits: 6
Purpose and description of the content of education:
This module focuses on advanced methods for investigating the micro- and nanostructure of materials, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Students gain the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to analyze crystal structure, surface morphology, and material defects. Upon completion of the module, students will be able to prepare samples, perform structural measurements, interpret results, and select appropriate research methods depending on the type of material and the purpose of the analysis. The module prepares students for work in research and industrial laboratories, developing analytical skills and competencies in materials quality control.
