Purpose and description of the content of education:
Learning outcomes are identified with detailed knowledge, skills and social competences related to the use of water in the world. The subject "Use of water" concerns the natural and socio-economic importance of rainwater, surface water and groundwater. In terms of utility, water ecosystems are mostly multifunctional. Together with their immediate surroundings, they fulfill important natural and landscape functions (e.g. bird breeding and nesting sites, shaping the local climate, self-purification of water), are an element of a shaped space with recreational, educational and aesthetic values. Relatively many of them are covered by various types of forms of nature protection. Individual types of water also have typical socio-economic importance, e.g. water supply, breeding importance, electricity production, raw material extraction, use in transport, military and defence functions, settlement importance. The consequence of intensive use of water is often the degradation of its quality, often associated with the production of sewage discharged through the sewerage network and the system of collectors to sewage treatment plants.
