Programme code: W2-S2GF19.2025

Module name: Optional module I
Module code: W2-GF-S2-709
Programme code: W2-S2GF19.2025
Semester: winter semester 2025/2026
Language of instruction: Polish
Form of verification: course work
ECTS credits: 6
Purpose and description of the content of education:
Optional module I provides knowledge and skills in the use of satellite positioning techniques in environmental applications. As part of the module, students will become familiar with the components of GNSS, methods of determining position by GNSS receivers, as well as areas of application of satellite positioning techniques. During the classes, students will acquire skills in performing measurements using GNSS modules and measurement techniques, skills in data processing, presentation and analysis. The student will gain knowledge on safety requirements, legal regulations and techniques for using UAVs. During the classes, students will participate in measurements (planning and carrying out an air mission for photogrammetric purposes) and data analysis (generation of orthophotomaps and DEMs with and without ground control points (GCPs), classification of dense clouds and reconstruction of a 3D model). The module also provides knowledge and teaches how to use tools and techniques of numerical modeling in environmental studies and programming. It is intended to help during natural research through the skillful use of the above-described methods and research tools.
