Purpose and description of the content of education:
The optional module introduces students to the world of modern tools and techniques used in geography. The subject focuses on the practical application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing techniques (remote data acquisition) in spatial analyses. Students will learn the basic principles of operation of these technologies, their capabilities and limitations. As part of practical classes, they will have the opportunity to independently create and analyze simple thematic maps, process spatial data and visualize geographical phenomena. The aim of the module is to develop students' digital and analytical skills, necessary in modern geographical research and in many professions based on the analysis of spatial data.
