Astronomy and gravitation part 2

Module name: Astronomy and gravitation part 2
Module code: KN-F-S2-AiG-CZ2
Language of instruction: Polish
Form of verification: course work
ECTS credits: 1
Purpose and description of the content of education:
The module aims to deepen students' knowledge of classical and relativistic description of gravity and modern astronomy. Classes integrate theoretical content with practical didactic skills, developing competences necessary for teaching gravitational and astronomical issues at the third level of education. During the workshops, students will become familiar with: i) classical and modern theory of gravity; ii) issues related to the area of classical astronomy and modern observational astronomy with elements of astrophysics and cosmology. The content implemented within the module is consistent with the current core curriculum applicable in secondary schools at basic and advanced levels.
List of modules that must be completed before starting this module (if necessary): not applicable
Learning outcome of the module Codes of the learning outcomes of the programme to which the learning outcome of the module is related [level of competence: scale 1-5]
The student knows the fundamental issues related to the theory of gravitation and understands the concept of gravitation in modern terms (Einstein's general theory of relativity). [AG2_01]
KN_NDP_F_S2_W01 [5/5] KN_NDP_F_S2_W02 [5/5]
The student is familiar with the fundamental problems in classical and modern astronomy and knows the mathematical formalism necessary to describe them. [AG2_02]
KN_NDP_F_S2_W01 [3/5] KN_NDP_F_S2_W02 [3/5]
The student can describe understandably, orally and in writing, using appropriate physical concepts and quantities, fundamental astrophysical phenomena and selected issues in cosmology. [AG2_03]
KN_NDP_F_S2_U01 [3/5] KN_NDP_F_S2_U05 [3/5]
