Purpose and description of the content of education:
The aim of the module is to familiarize students with classical and contemporary concepts of the sociological approach to art, as well as the research methods that result from these theories. In order to understand the issues related to the represented artistic discipline supported by an in-depth knowledge of the literature on the subject, the relationship between society and art, artistic, will be presented. The organization of the art world (galleries, museas, art centers ect.), the question of career and trajectory in the artistic world will also be explained. In addition, during the course, students learn about the theory of collective creation and the concept of the "field of art". The problem of the reception of art depending on its position in the social structure and the challenges faced by contemporary art in the face of the phenomenon of globalization will also be presented.A separate issue discussed during the classes will be the problem of the autonomy of the art world, as well as various forms of interpenetration of economic, political, religious and artistic spheres, which will allow to gain knowledge about the sociological and marketing aspects of the functioning of the art market with its financial and formal and legal aspects. At the same time, the course is to provide an opportunity to practice a critical look at one's own intellectual and artistic work with the help of familiar sociological concepts. also the institutional framework of art on the example of contemporary phenomena
