Purpose and description of the content of education: | The subject Tourism as an element of local and regional development focuses on the role of tourism as a factor stimulating socio-economic development at the local and regional level. During the course, students will become familiar with the theoretical and practical aspects of the impact of tourism on the development of infrastructure, economy, culture and quality of life of residents. The subject addresses issues related to planning and managing tourism in a sustainable manner, taking into account the needs of local communities and the protection of natural and cultural heritage. The subject combines elements of economics, sociology, geography, management and environmental protection. During the course, students will analyze case studies from different regions of the world and participate in discussions. The main objective of the subject Tourism as an element of local and regional development is to familiarize students with the role of tourism in local and regional development - understanding how tourism affects the development of infrastructure, economy, culture and the quality of life of residents, developing the skills of planning and managing tourism in a sustainable manner - learning to create tourism strategies that take into account the needs of local communities and the protection of natural and cultural heritage and preparing students to identify opportunities and challenges related to the development of tourism - analysis of the benefits and threats resulting from the development of tourism at the local and regional level. |
