Purpose and description of the content of education:
The Sociology of Sustainable Tourism is a subject that introduces students to issues related to the sociological aspects of tourism, with particular emphasis on the concept of sustainable development. The subject focuses on the analysis of the relationship between tourism and society, including the impact of tourism on local communities, culture, and the environment. Students are introduced to key sociological theories that explain tourist behavior and the impact of tourism on society and the environment. The subject develops skills in analyzing and understanding the social aspects of tourism, which is essential for designing and implementing sustainable practices in the tourism industry. The subject combines elements of sociology, anthropology, environmental protection, and tourism management. The main objective of the Sociology of Sustainable Tourism subject is to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and analyze the social aspects of tourism, with particular emphasis on sustainable development, to familiarize students with sociological theories on tourism and their application in practice, and to develop skills in analyzing the impact of tourism on local communities, culture, and the environment.
