Purpose and description of the content of education: | The subject focuses on the analysis of the processes of revitalization and adaptation of post-industrial areas, such as former mines, factories, steelworks or ports, for the needs of tourism. Students will become familiar with examples of successful transformation of these areas into tourist attractions, such as industrial museums, theme parks, cultural centers or tourist routes. The subject develops the ability to plan and manage tourism in post-industrial areas, taking into account the principles of sustainable development and protection of industrial heritage. The subject combines elements of geography, history, tourism management and protection of cultural heritage. During the classes, students will analyze specific examples of revitalization of post-industrial areas, participate in discussions and prepare projects related to the development of tourism in these areas. The main objective of the subject Tourism in post-industrial areas is to familiarize students with the processes of revitalization and adaptation of post-industrial areas for the needs of tourism, develop the ability to analyze the tourist potential of post-industrial areas and identify factors influencing their attractiveness, and prepare students to plan and manage tourism in post-industrial areas taking into account the principles of sustainable development. |
