Purpose and description of the content of education: | Physico-geographical foundations of tourism is a subject that introduces students to issues related to aspects of the natural environment and their impact on the development and functioning of tourism. The subject focuses on understanding the natural processes that shape the landscape and analyzing how these processes affect the tourist attractiveness of regions. Students will become familiar with elements of the natural environment, such as terrain and geological structure, climate, surface and underground waters, soils, flora and fauna, and their role in creating tourist products. The subject is interdisciplinary in nature, combining knowledge from the field of physical geography, ecology, environmental protection and tourism. During the classes, students will analyze specific examples of tourist regions, both in Poland and around the world, to understand how physio-geographical factors affect the development of various forms of tourism, such as mountain, seaside, lake or nature tourism. The course aims to familiarize students with the physiogeographic processes that shape the natural environment and their importance for tourism, to develop skills in analyzing the landscape in terms of its tourist attractiveness and to understand the relationship between the natural environment and tourist activities, including the impact of tourism on the natural environment. |
