Purpose and description of the content of education: | This module aims to introduce students to the latest developments in the field of ocular optics and optometry. Innovative technologies used in the design and production of spectacle lenses, modern methods of eye examination and advanced diagnostic tools used in optometry will be discussed. aware of the role of innovation and the need for continuous development in their professional career.
Training content:
1. Modern materials and coatings in spectacle lenses.
2. Digital technologies in ocular optics.
3. Modern measurement and diagnostic methods in optometry.
4. Technologies supporting diagnostics and therapy of the visual organ.
5. Spectacle lens technologies designed to control the progression of myopia.
6. Trends and future of ophthalmic optics and optometry.
As part of his/her own work, the student, based on lecture notes and supplementary literature, strives to consolidate the knowledge acquired.
The module is in the form of lecture classes. The lecture in the form of a multimedia presentation discusses selected issues.
The module ends with a graded assessment based on a test or assignment. |
