Purpose and description of the content of education: | The topic of the lectures is cultural studies issues in relation to book studies, library science, and information science - analysis of current research directions in the context of theory, history, and methodology of disciplines. The issues concern: 1/ dominant research directions in cultural studies, 2/ the universe of the book as a cultural phenomenon, including publishing, bookselling, and library (collecting) objects in historical, material, functional (sociological), and content aspects, 3/ concepts of library science (17th-21st century), development of ideas, terminology, and education and profession of librarians; 4/ theory, history, and methodology and current directions of development of information science in the world and in Poland. |
