Purpose and description of the content of education:
The course provides an introduction to the topics of the Anthropology of the Global South and tools necessary for the interpreation of different phenomena related to the societies living in the region. The course concentraces on the legacy of colonialism and postcolonial reflection as key to understand the history and cultural specifcity of the diverse regions of the globe. The classes cover a diverse set of regions, such as Latin America, Africa, South-Eastern Asia and Oceania, while the topics include religion, gender and politics.
