Purpose and description of the content of education: | The Anthropology of the City module is intended to enable students to familiarize themselves with the basic assumptions and goals of urban anthropology as a sub-discipline of cultural anthropology, to provide knowledge about the main theoretical concepts, methodological orientations and key research topics. The classes allow you to learn about the problems that anthropologists deal with in urban space - these include mainly bonds connecting people, meanings given and perceived by them in urban space, shaping its mental landscape, ways of its cultural use, as well as the process of creating a social identity. culture of the city's inhabitant. The subject matter of the classes is to inspire students to critically analyze and evaluate phenomena significant in anthropological considerations of the city. |
